“This was a bit of a challenge for us as this song was quite far outside our usual style. Kurt is a wonderful guy to work with though and he helped us feel relaxed and positive about the recording process all the way through. We had all the ideas for what we wanted pretty concrete before we went into the studio, but there were some things we couldn't really practice beforehand, so it was great to see it come together and know that the ideas worked! After spending a lot of time listening to the tune in preparation for the recording, I ended up thinking about the lyrics a lot. I ended up thinking that the love he talks about is actually a representation of God - or at least Bowie's own sense of spirituality or the divine – as well as thoughts about the way that love can sometimes have terrible, negative effects when that love is lost. I think I related to the way that it seems to be asking a lot of questions about the nature of how people are, our spiritual spark, and what makes us human. Thank you to everyone who has supported the band in any way! Tusks Up!”
